Weekend Round Up + I’m Answering YOUR Questions

Now that we’re parents to two busy boys who love being out of the house I feel like we’ve become a lot more active.

Not in a “I’m so busy I can’t keep my head on” kind of way but more of a ” Yay what should we do with the boys today” kind of way.
I’m LOVING it!

Before deciding to take a step back from photography my weekends were filled with work and shoots.
That weekend busyness was all that I’ve know for the last few years.
It was definitely a blessing but I’m enjoying this new shift to being a full time mama.
I’m free to sit back and enjoy the weekends with my guys and it’s something I’m very grateful for!

Saturday has become our family adventure day and Sundays are all about visiting with family, running errands and getting ready for the week ahead.

I love our family Saturday’s so much that I’ve become a bit picky about how we spend that time as far as responsibilities and setting up actives.
When we can we leave the day open and just let it take us where it wants.
Those are usually our most favorite days!

Saturday we decided head to McKinney!

Downtown McKinney has a beautiful town square full of character and charm.
Visiting the McKinney square is definitely a must if you’re ever in town!

We did a little antiquing and the boys thankfully didn’t break anything.

We tried out a new farm to table restaurant called Harvest.
It was so cute inside and had an awesome patio!
I did a Snap Chat tour of the restaurant but forgot to take a picture for you guys.
Just imagine how Joanna Gains would decorate a restaurant.
Yep the decor screams Fixer Upper style!

Mom are you reading?
I’m going to make us a lunch reservation at Harvest for Mother’s Day! You’re going to freak over the decor!

Weston was in for a treat as the square had horse back police officers (is that what you call them) patrolling the square.
We got to pet the horses and have a visit with them.
The officers were so sweet to the boys and gave Weston a badge sicker (Kent’s wearing it in the photo below).

We ended our walk around the square with ice cream for the guys and an iced cinnamon honey latte for me.
It was so nice sitting out on the patio enjoying the weather while the boys got sticky and messy!

After we loaded back up in the car the boys crashed which meant Kent and I got to have a little car date.
I LOVE our car dates!
No phones in the way.
No kids interrupting (because they’re sleeping)
We just chat listen to music and reconnect.
It’s good stuff!

We surprised the boys by waking them up in front of a new playground.
This was the 1st time Carson has been able to actually play on a playground.
He had a blast toddling after Weston and checking everything out.

Kent and I were gushing over how excited he was about it all.
It was pretty precious until it was time to leave and both boys weren’t ready to call it a day.

We lucked out and found this amazing flower field next to the playground.
I’ve been on the hunt for a place to shoot Carsie-Bear’s 1st year photos and I think THIS is the spot!
I’ll need to be creative on how I position myself so we don’t get the houses in the background but eeeek so beautiful!
I plan on shooting them this Sunday so hopefully these pretties stay nice and lush until then!

On Sunday we took my in-laws to a Koren BBQ restaurant.
We’ve been there before and vlogged during our last visit if you want to check it out.
Pretty neat place!

Carson wanted nothing to do with sitting in his high chair so I spent most of the meal walking him around the restaurant.
Thank goodness they had just opened and weren’t busy yet so I didn’t have to worry about him bothering people.

After lunched we headed to the Asian super market to pick up some vegges and and a few things we needed for our meal prep.
Weston got a jelly drink that was a big as his head and we called it day!

I planned on vlogging our afternoon once we got home but I laid down to take a tiny nap which turned into a massive slumber.
It was MUCH needed after a long stretch of crummy sleep!

I did still want to share a video this week so I reached out on Snap Chat this morning and asked for some questions so I could sit down and do a little Q&A for you guys!
I talk about how Kent and I met, how things are going with my weight loss journey, what I put in my coffee and so on.

You guys asked and I answered!
