A Pretty Distraction – Dallas Lifestyle Photographer

Today is a big day for the US as we’re finding out who our new president will be.

This is not the platform I would like to chat about politics on so we wont go there but I figured some of us could use a pretty distraction……a little mini break from all that’s going on around us.

Some of you may be coming across this post and thinking “WHAT I thought she was no longer shooting professionally?” I share more about where I am with my photography HERE if you would like to take a peek. I get pretty real and talk about where my heart is with my work and my plans for the future.

Anyway on to today’s post.

Meet Madison!

I’ve been taking her pictures since she was in her mama’s tummy and look at her now gowning up and just as lovely as can be. Madison has this jovial adventurous spirit that pours out of her. It’s one of the many reasons I love photographing her as that beautiful spirit come across so strongly in her images. I have a feeling you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about after looking through this post!

A sweet moment between Madison and her grandmother.

I’ve shared the image below on the blog recently but I there’s a little back story to it.

We were in a filed of beautiful yellow flowers that must have called out to monarch butterflies as they were all around us. Of course it’s not uncommon to see the occasional butterfly here and there but this was different! Every where you looked you could see a little orange flecks as the butterflies fluttered from flower to flower. Oh that beautiful contrast between the bold orange and black details in their wings and the way the sun was highlighting the yellow flowers.  It was stunning something I’ll remember for a long time. Of course I had to document it!
